Journey of the Universe ~ DVD & Book release

Posted by Biophile under: Community News .

The long awaited and much anticipated release of Brian Swimme and Mary Evelyn Tucker’s collaboration to tell the Universe Story in an appealing and accessible manner has arrived. This is an exciting project, comprehensive in scope, and it has every appearance of having been produced in the highest quality possible. As the heirs apparent of of the late Thomas Berry, geologian and evolutionary philosopher, Swimme and Tucker are masterfully continuing down the path of presenting the emerging mythology of creation as digestible story. I suspect Thomas Berry would have been proud of their effort.

Their book was released within the last couple of weeks while the DVD is slated for release towards the end of July 2011. Unfortunately it does not appear that the film is slated for any sort of regular release, and one can hope that it will make the art house and film festival rounds. It certainly deserves a wider audience, and will stimulate a long overdue conversation about our role within the universe.

Journey of the Universe, the book, the DVD, the website, all dedicated to advancing the awareness of the story that we all share at the heart of our being. Pass it along. Engage in the conversation. Evolve Consciously. All of the passions and joys underlying this project, shared in a gorgeous manner by two of the leading proponents of telling our story at the forefront of planetary evolution.

It’s hard to put into words how fascinating your site is. I can genuinely say I haven’t discovered writing along these lines . Maintain the great hard work.

After dealing with suicide, homocide, and genocide, our Western Christian moral code collapses completely; it cannot deal with biocide or geocide. ~ Thomas Berry
