Researchers are increasingly becoming aware that the heart is vastly more than a pump, that it is in fact full of neurons and generates a powerful electromagnetic field. I often think of the quote “Be the change you want to see in the world” from Gandhi when I think of human-earth relations, because what we forge within our hearts becomes the basis for how we interact with the world. Along those lines I offer this one minute short from the folks at the Institute of Noetic Sciences about heart science.

This is a beautiful example of just how powerfully our hearts influence our interactions with everything. One of my favorite Thomas Berry quotes also comes to mind ~ “Peace with each other through peace with the earth”, meaning that unless we are able to perceive, appreciate, and inhabit a place of peace within ourselves towards the earth that our chances of establishing peaceful relations within human communities are pretty slim. The folks at We Can Solve It .org have hit the nail on the head as far as we are concerned here at The Gaia Community College. And it’s quite simple really. We have the technology to address and apply solutions to the issues facing us in relation to global warming and climate change. And as they succinctly point out, there is a lot of economic opportunity in doing so. What we don’t have is a comprehensive vision, or to put it another way, we don’t have visionary leaders at present, and we really don’t have the time to waste. So We Can Solve It has presented us with an effective tool ~ add your name to the list, and let our voices be heard en masse.

The website is full of constructive and practical ideas divided into straight forward categories, and is extremely user friendly. I am a big fan of the What’s New section, as it is all too easy to get lost and caught up in the overwhelmingly negative news coverage of our wondrous earth. This is a phenominal resource for up to date and unfolding news that highlights efforts and activity and awarenesses along the lines of our global community.

No one person or organization has the answer, but together we can creatively guide our course through the challenge facing all of life on this planet. Remember, the Universe Story teaches us that it is in the face of greatest adversity that evolutionary creativity has always responded with the greatest innovations and inventions to usher in a new era of evolutionary development.
